The President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF)

 over the Icelandic team (2:1) and their entry to the 2024 European Championship.

After the final match 

 against the Icelanders, Shevchenko visited the blue-yellow team's locker room and made an emotional speech, reports Suspilne Sport.

"It's unbelievable. In such a difficult time... Everyone has been waiting for this moment. I know everyone believes in you. I literally received a thousand messages of support. The people on the front lines (defense - ed.) who protect our country - you gave them some piece of happiness. Therefore, I thank you for this. You are well done," Shevchenko addressed the team.

It should be noted that in 

 the national team of Ukraine will play in group E against Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.

The matches of the Euro 2024 final tournament will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
