A father and son, who worked as cable workers in Chirag Delhi area, were stabbed to death with knives by four-five people on Sunday evening.

The police received information about the incident at 8.06 pm, after which the police forensic team also reached the spot and started investigating the case.

According to the police, the murder was done due to mutual rivalry.

Police have sent both their bodies for post-mortem and have started investigating the case.

The police have claimed that they will soon arrest all the accused in the case. 

Both the deceased persons have been identified as Jai Bhagwan, aged 55 years, and his son Shubham, aged 22 years.

Jai Bhagwan used to do cable work and he already had some ongoing rivalry in the area.

The family of the deceased has alleged that those people had already pelted stones at their house, complaints about which have been made to the police several times, but the police have not taken any action till date. 

At the same time, the DCP of South Delhi said that as soon as he got information about the incident, he reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

Police are interrogating the family members.

Police said that we will soon arrest all the accused involved in the murder and five teams have been formed for this.

Regarding the matter, DCP Ankit Chauhan said in a press release that the deceased Jai Bhagwan is the BC of Malviya Nagar police station and many cases are registered against him, which include murder, attempt to murder and snatching etc.
