We have taken the necessary actions to ensure the safety and tranquility of the citizens.

We are increasing the police presence in the city center and other areas where there are gatherings of people of different backgrounds.

This was said by the resigned Minister of Internal Affairs, Kalin Stoyanov, after a meeting with the Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, and representatives of branch organizations of establishments in connection with security in the capital.

According to him, this is necessary because of the two incidents of the last few days in the city center.

Kalin Stoyanov added that the police presence around the accommodation centers of the State Agency for Refugees, which are guarded by a private company, is also increasing.

The minister noted the legislative change initiated by GERB-SDS and DPS in the Law on the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Law on Administration, which will make it possible to appoint the necessary 1,264 units of "Border Police" and about 260 police officers who will take over the security of the five centers for accommodation.

He added that in recent months, the Ministry of the Interior has found many gaps in the centers and issued recommendations.

Kalin Stoyanov pointed out that in the last year there has been no increase in the number of incidents involving migrants in our country.

They want urgent measures in relation to violence by migrants

"We understood that this incident on Vitosha Blvd. was a domestic incident and we should not play with the ethnic card because we live in peace in Bulgaria," he added.

In his words, there are migrants who may be aggressive, there are Bulgarians who are aggressive, but "we cannot put all migrants under one denominator and say that they are all aggressive and expel them from here".

Alibegov pointed out that the sale of drugs in establishments has decreased considerably, and there have been meetings with the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the subject.

Regarding youth crime, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev, pointed out that there should be more serious parental control.

He added that, in addition to the central part of the city, the police presence will also be increased in the parks for the purpose of prevention.
