"It is a great honor for me to stand on this big stage. I am probably the first one who would like that I never had to shoot this film, for which I am receiving an award. And that Russia never attacked Ukraine and occupied our cities. I I would give it all to keep Russia from killing tens of thousands of my fellow citizens. I would give it all to free all the prisoners of war, all the soldiers who defended their land, all the civilians who are now being tortured by Russia. But I cannot change history, the past . But we, together with the most talented people in the world, can do something to correct history and that the truth will prevail. And that the people from Mariupol and those who gave their lives will never be forgotten. Because cinema creates memories, and memories create history. Thank you all !", - the director of the film "20 Days in Mariupol" Mstislav Chernov proudly announced from the stage.

And the Ukrainian film artist finished with the phrase: "Glory to Ukraine!".

In addition, in a comment to the foreign publication Vanity Fair, Mstislav added that he wants the film "20 days in Mariupol" to have a significant impact on foreigners: "I hope it will bring the story to more people, and they will see and hear Ukrainians."
