A fighter pilot, Major Andriy Tkachenko, died in the sky over Donetsk during a combat mission.
This was announced on the Facebook page of Sambirskyi Plast, as well as Plast representative Yuriy Yuzych.
In his childhood and youth, Andriy was an active member of Plast.
In 2006, he took a preparatory course in paragliding at the Chota krylatyh camp in Letun and became interested in aviation.
In 2008, he became a cadet at the Ivan Kozhedub National Kharkiv Air Force University, which he successfully completed in 2012.
He completed his military service in Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, then returned to Ivano-Frankivsk.
Since the beginning of the war in 2014, he performed combat missions during the ATO and OOS.
After the full-scale invasion, he performed combat missions in the east and south of our country.
33-year-old Andriy Tkachenko died in the sky of Donetsk region on March 8, 2024, while performing another combat mission.
The pilot will be buried in Ivano-Frankivsk, where he lived with his family.
Andrii is survived by his parents, older brother, wife and six-year-old son.
