The President
of the United States
, Joe Biden, called on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Michael Johnson, to vote on the bill on financing Ukraine and other American partners.
The Voice of America
informs about it
.
"I urge the Speaker to give the full House of Representatives an opportunity to speak their mind and not allow a minority of the most radical voices in the room to block this bill from even a vote," Biden said.
The US president said that this document is "critically important", so it should go further.
"This bill provides emergency funding for Ukraine to continue to defend itself against Putin's vicious onslaught. In recent weeks, we've all seen the horror stories: Ukrainian soldiers running out of artillery shells, Ukrainian units distributing ammunition to defend themselves, Ukrainian families worried that the next Russian strike will be forever will plunge them into darkness, or worse," Biden said.
The head of the White House noted that supporting this bill will show Ukrainians and other international partners that "America can be trusted. America can be relied on, and that America stands for freedom."
Biden also said that supporting the zoo project means opposing the Russian dictator Putin, and speaking out for him, on the contrary, is playing into Putin's hands.
"You have to decide whether you are for Ukraine or for Putin. We never bow down to anyone, and even more so not to Vladimir Putin," Biden said.
The US president emphasized that the appetite of the Russian dictator will increase significantly if he is not stopped in Ukraine, which will mean much greater losses for the US and its partners.
In addition, Biden reminded that although this bill provides for sending military equipment to Ukraine, in fact, the money for this equipment is invested and spent in the United States.
"Not only does this support American jobs and American communities, it will allow us to invest in, maintain and strengthen our defense manufacturing capabilities," the president emphasized.
Biden added that the bill provides for the allocation of funds to American enterprises.
"To places like Arizona, where Patriot missiles are built; Alabama, where Javelin missiles are built; to Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas, where artillery shells are manufactured," Biden said.
