Giving this information on Thursday, officials said that in 2022, two shooters involved in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala (Sidhu Moosewala Killers) have been awarded the President's Gallantry Medal.

According to the information, two gangsters – Manpreet Singh alias Mannu and Jagroop Singh alias Rupa were killed in Amritsar on July 20, 2022.

Along with Bikramjis Singh, four other police officers - sub-inspector Rahul Sharma, assistant sub-inspector Jagjit Singh, Baljinder Singh and head constable Surinderpal Singh, who were part of his five-member team, were also awarded the President's Gallantry Award.

All of them will receive medals on the eve of the 75th Republic Day.

Anti Gangster Task Force chief IPS Pramod Ban and Intelligence Department's Swarndeep Singh have also been selected for the President's Medal.

DSP Dalbir Singh, ASI Malkit Singh and late senior constable Mandeep Singh (posthumously) were awarded gallantry medals, the statement said.

Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner of Police Harvinder Singh Virk, Vigilance Bureau Joint Director (Complaint Cell) Digvijay Kapil, DSP Mansa Kuldeep Singh and DSP Gurjitpal Singh are among the 16 officers who have been selected for the Meritorious Service Medal, officials said.

Senior SP Jalandhar Rural Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Commandant Jalandhar Mandeep Singh and DSP SAS Nagar Gursher Singh were among the 14 officers who were selected for the Chief Minister's Medal for outstanding devotion to duty, he said.

Congratulating the award winners, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav expressed his gratitude to the Central and State governments for recognizing the services of these officers.

President Draupadi Murmu on Thursday approved 80 gallantry awards, including six Kirti Chakras and 16 Shaurya Chakras, on the eve of the 75th Republic Day.
