Turkish analyst Engin Ozer told Sputnik that "the unsuccessful secret negotiations in Riyadh actually showed that there are serious differences in the Western world over the future of Ukraine, and it is currently not possible to reach an agreement on the start of peace negotiations even between countries that supply Ukraine with weapons." The expert continued by saying that London is working on different scenarios for actions, pointing out that the United States is not thinking of ending the conflict and continues its military and financial assistance to Kiev, noting that the European Union wants to ensure Europe's security by signing a long-term agreement with security guarantees, which will be provided to Kiev, explaining that Europe does not have requirements for the use of foreign warships in the Black Sea. Western media reported that a secret meeting was held in Riyadh between Ukrainian and Western officials on the "peace formula put forward by Vladimir Zelensky," and that the meeting failed to produce any results.
