DODOMA: THE INSTITUTE FOR THE PREVENTION AND FIGHTING OF Corruption (PAKUKURU), has investigated the statement of the leader of the torch race in 2023, Abdalah Shaibu, who rejected 20 projects.

Director General of the PCC, Salum Hamduni said this today, March 28, IKulu Chamwino presenting the report of his institution, where President Samia receives the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Government Accounts (CAG) 2022/2023 along with the report of the PCC.

Hamduni said that in 20 files that were investigated, 12 files were investigated, one file the accused was brought to court and he has been sentenced after being found guilty, another file has been transferred to the Police, eight files are still being investigated and the rest are at the National Office of Prosecution.

He said the PCC opened 600 new cases in court, of which 594 cases were opened in the lower court and six cases were opened in the High Court.

He said that among the 594 cases that were opened in the lower courts, nine cases were opened at the initial stages by handing them over so that they could be opened at the High Court Division of Economic Sabotage Crimes.

Hamduni has said that 496 cases were decided, of which 336 equal to 67.7 percent of the defendants were found guilty and sentenced to prison and others to pay fines.
