US First Lady Jill Biden is writing a children's picture book about her White House cat Willow, which will be published in June, the Associated Press reported, citing BTA.

Simon & Schuster announced Wednesday that "Willow the White House Cat" tells the story of how the short-haired tabby ended up in the official residence of the President of the United States.

The cat impressed the first lady after it jumped on stage while she spoke at a farm in Pennsylvania during the 2020 presidential campaign. Jill Biden later adopted the cat and named it after her hometown of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.

"As Willow races from room to room, exploring the history of her new home, she quickly learns about all the amazing people who make the White House work," Jill Biden said in a press release. "They welcomed Willow with love and care, just as they welcomed me and Joe, and the first families who came before us, and all the people who step foot in this home."

"Now, Willow the White House Cat sees the family's furriest member in the spotlight."

"Making many new friends along the way, Willow's journey gives the world a cat's eye view of all the ins and outs of the White House," she added.

Willow is the only pet of the Biden family that still lives in the official residence of the President of the United States. They also had three German Shepherds. Their first dog, Champ, died in 2021, and Major and Commander no longer live at the White House after exhibiting aggressive behavior toward Secret Service agents and White House staff members.

"Willow, the White House Cat" is co-written by author Alyssa Satin Capucilli and illustrated by artist Kate Berube.

The first lady's previous children's titles include Don't Forget, God Bless Our Troops and Joey: The Story of Joe Biden. In 2019, she published her memoir, Where the Light Enters.
