ABW officers carried out a number of procedural measures, including searches, in Warsaw and Tychy as part of the investigation into the disclosure of espionage activities for the benefit of Russia, directed against the states and bodies of the European Union, writes Businessinsider, citing information from Polish intelligence services.

The events are the result of international cooperation of the Internal Security Agency with a number of European services, coordinated, in particular, with partners from the Czech Republic. As a result, activity on the organization of pro-Russian initiatives and media campaigns in EU countries was documented, according to the press release of the Polish special services.

The purpose of the spies was, among other things, to "weaken Poland's position on the international arena, discredit Ukraine and the image of the European Union bodies."

According to ABW, in an effort to realize the above goals, among others, the international website voice-of-europe.eu was launched, which publishes biased pro-Russian articles, statements, comments and interviews related to the current international situation, including the war that leads Russia against Ukraine.

"The services have determined the method of financing the described procedure," says the press release of the security forces.

"The actions of the Internal Security Agency are also the result of an investigation, which ended on January 19 with an indictment, during which evidence was collected against a Polish citizen who is suspected of spying for the Russian intelligence services, performing tasks at the behest and with the financial support of Russian intelligence officers, which included, among others, propaganda, disinformation and political provocation. Their goal was to build Russian spheres of influence in Europe," said
